Earlier this month, with the sun shining brightly, we embarked on an exciting journey with our Year 7 and 8 students to Condover Hall in Shropshire for a netball and football residential. It was an incredible experience filled with competitive games, skill improvement, and unforgettable moments. The primary goal of our residential trip was to foster teamwork, improve sports skills, and cultivate a positive attitude among our students. We are proud to say that our Year 8 netball players showcased their exceptional talent and determination, close to reaching the semi-finals. Throughout the days, we witnessed remarkable progress and great teamwork from all participants. The commitment and enthusiasm displayed by our students were truly inspiring.
One aspect that stood out during the weekend was the outstanding attitude and sportsmanship demonstrated by our students. The umpires were quick to acknowledge their exceptional behaviour on and off the field. Our students represented the school with utmost pride and dignity, earning high praise from both umpires and opposing teams. While the weather was hot, our students did not let it dampen their spirits. They were well-prepared, donning hats, applying sunscreen, and staying hydrated with plenty of water. Despite the challenging conditions, they remained resilient, showcasing their determination and commitment. In addition to the intense sporting activities, we made sure our students had moments of relaxation and entertainment. Along with the chance to abseil, rock climb, or zip wire, there was archery, tunnelling, and laser quest with many more activities. As a special treat, they were able to watch the thrilling UEFA Champions League final.
Throughout the weekend, we witnessed the joy and enthusiasm on our students' faces. The numerous quotes we gathered from them expressed their desire to prolong their stay and their belief that this experience surpassed previous residential trips. These trips cannot happen without the staff and I would like to thank Richard, Tiffany, and Amber for their help over this weekend. Well done to everyone.
